Technical Support, Networking & Information Security
Job Summary:
The Technical Support, Networking & Information Security employee is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of the hospital’s IT infrastructure. This role involves providing technical support to end-users, maintaining and troubleshooting computers and their accessories, networks and systems, and implementing cybersecurity best practices. The position requires hands-on involvement in helpdesk, systems and network management, and information security measures to support continuous hospital operations. Flexibility and on-site presence are essential due to the 24/7 nature of healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement, and maintain the hospital’s network and ensure the availability of IT infrastructure.
- Perform help desk functions, provide technical support, and carry out regular maintenance on computers, accessories, network components, and peripherals.
- Define technical specifications for both hardware and software required for IT operations.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with technicians (e.g., electrical) to ensure network reliability.
- Install, configure, and manage network devices such as Firewalls, switches, access points, and routers.
- Maintain and configure key network protocols and services (DNS, VPN, IP Routing, VLANs, HTTP, STP, SSL/TLS, IPsec, Radius, LDAP etc.).
- Apply security and software updates regularly to all network-connected systems.
- Provide technical training and support to hospital staff on the use of systems and devices.
- Track IT incidents, coordinate repairs, and ensure scheduled maintenance tasks are completed.
- Support data protection initiatives and Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems by implementing appropriate access controls, deploying antivirus solutions, and managing firewall rules.
- Collaborate with the Information Security team to ensure the implementation of best practices in cybersecurity.
- Maintain core IT systems, including servers, virtualization platforms, and Active Directory services such as user and group management, Group Policy Objects (GPO), DNS, and authentication mechanisms.
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of servers and network systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability
Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networks and Information Security, Information Technology, CE, Telecommunication, or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in technical support, networking and related fields.
- Strong troubleshooting and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work on-site in alignment with hospital operations (24/7, year-round), including responding to support needs during non-standard hours, as required by the nature of the role.
- Proficiency in operating systems: Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Experience with remote desktop tools and help desk systems.
- Solid understanding of network and system security concepts.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft (MCP, MCSA, or similar)
- Cisco (CCNA, CCNP)
- Linux (LPIC L1, CompTIA Linux+)
